Search For Beloved Corgi Continues In Western Area

The search continues for a beloved Corgi named Sherpa last seen Saturday in North Community off Arizona Avenue between 35th and 36th streets. Her owners are not giving up although the signs leading up to Sherpa’s disappearance are concerning. After a lot of neighborhood discussions and scouting surrounding yards, fresh mountain lion prints were discovered Sunday in many areas, but specifically in the next door neighbor’s yard. There are fresh prints leading toward Mitchell Trail and fresh claw marks on the neighbor’s 6-foot-tall wood fence. Two neighbors reported seeing an incredibly large mountain lion in North Community, one being Saturday night. Neighbors caution residents to stay alert. ‘We do live in mountain lion territory and they are hungry,’ neighbor Christine Stempleski Nackers said. Anyone who spots Sherpa is asked to contact her owners Ronnie and Joel at 505.660.9682. Photo by Christine Stempleski Nackers
