BSA News:
During the Memorial Day weekend, nine Scouts and four adults from Troop 122 took a two-night, 20-mile backpack trip deep into the heart of the San Pedro Parks wilderness in the western Jemez Mountains.
Once past San Gregorio Reservoir, the Scouts encountered few others as they trudged through deep snow on shady parts of the trails and swampy riparian areas, which make the high (more than 10,000 ft.) granite plateau a unique part of New Mexico’s landscape.
They also did their best to eat as many non-native brown trout as possible to supplement the food they packed in.
