Science On Tap Explores Plasma Physics Thursday

COMMUNITY News:

Science On Tap happens every third Thursday of the month, featuring a new topic each time. This month Glen Wurden, with the Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Plasma Physics Group, will briefly outline the work he’s been doing in conjunction with the Wendelstein 7-X stellarator in Germany. Part of that work has been to design systems to peer into the roiling world of superhot plasmas to test a promising alternative approach to harness fusion energy.

Join the group to chat about plasma physics at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 21 at UnQuarked Wine Room, 145 Central Park Square in Los Alamos

Science On Tap is sponsored by the Los Alamos Creative District and hosted by the Bradbury Science Museum. The On Tap series begins each evening with an informal 10-15 minute lecture followed by a lively group discussion. All ages are welcome!

On Tap is a way for people to get out and about in the community, learn something new, and meet people with similar interests. The “On Tap” series happens twice a month. The discussions are supported by Bradbury Science Museum, Fuller Lodge Art Center, Los Alamos Historical Society and PEEC at The Nature Center.
