School Begins Thursday And Los Alamos Police Remind Motorists To Be Careful

LAPD News:

The Los Alamos Police Department wants to remind motorists to slow down, drive safely, and drive defensively as the school year begins this week.

Los Alamos Police officers will be providing extra patrols in school zones to ensure safety around each school.

“During this transition time back to school, motorists’ summer routine is changed and parents may be chauffeuring their kids to school for the first time or to a new school. When our routine is changed it can add to the hazards that motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists all ready face every day,” Cmdr. Oliver Morris said. “LAPD wants to remind drivers to recognize this and be vigilant for students walking to school as well.”
