On Friday, Feb. 15, Los Alamos Makers at 3540 Orange St., was transformed into a pop-up venue for an out-of-the-ordinary date night. A virtual crackling fireplace projected on the large screen, along with romantic background music, made for a soothing atmosphere. The unusual center pieces were one-of-a-kind fused glass bottles handmade by glass art instructor Sue Bombardt. Courtesy photo
Jeremy Varela, owner of Secret City Kitchen with his catering team wowed the guests with a sophisticated table and a delicious 3-course meal. Courtesy photo
For their 2nd course, guests had a choice between spinach, tomato, goat cheese stuffed chicken with roasted asparagus and garlic buttermilk whipped potatoes (pictured) or a vegetarian ratatouille with couscous cake. Courtesy photo
In true ‘maker’ fashion, the makerspace invited guests to create their own custom laser-engraved signs to commemorate their union. Couples enjoyed their meal and took home their custom creations. Los Alamos Makers is grateful to all the guests for taking part in this unique event. Courtesy photo
