The Los Alamos Republican Party’s Patriot’s Day Celebration and Dinner Saturday at the Church of Christ on Diamond Drive drew 118 people to hear Harrison (Jack) Schmitt. He was the first scientist in space on Apollo 17. He is a geologist, university professor and former U.S. senator from New Mexico.

The casual event hosted activities for kids, a photo booth and dinner provided by Lee Hollon. Also, candidates for the New Mexico Primary Election were in attendance and spoke at the event.
