SPORTS News:

Los Alamos Skate Jam 2021 was held Saturday at the Los Alamos Skatepark on Central Avenue, drawing a large crowd to watch skateboarders perform tricks.

The Skate Jam was sponsored by the County with Allure hair salon owner Shelley Pasley Jankowski the driving force behind this first of its kind event in town.

There were drawings for prizes, a spin-to-win wheel and skateboards and skateboard accessories for sale.

The main feature was the competition of the skateboarders in two events divided into amateur and advanced to allow skaters of all levels to compete.

The first event was the Best Trick followed up with the High Ollie Competition, which was an open event.
