Staff Report

Despite Saturday’s windy weather, the community turned out for the Los Alamos Arts Council’s Arts and Crafts Fair held this year at Ashley Pond Park.

The annual fair changed venues due to the renovations occurring at Historic Fuller Lodge.

This year’s fair featured the wide variety of art that the LAAC’s arts and crafts fairs are known for; shoppers browsed through artists’ booths selling everything from jewelry and paintings to clothing and pottery. This year’s fair also featured Party to Go’s inflatable bouncy houses and booths hosted by the Pajarito Environmental Education Center as well as the Piecemakers Quilt Guild.

Food vendors included David’s Dogs and Platero’s Navajo Tacos and Fry Bread.

To commemorate LAAC’s 50th anniversary, LAAC sold tote bags with the arts organization’s 50th anniversary logo on them. LAAC board members and volunteers also sold raffle tickets for an original oil painting by Santa Fe Artist Wendy Higgins. The winning ticket will be drawn during the LAAC annual meeting June 9.
