The Santa Fe Striders would like to congratulate the winners of the 2024 Santa Fe Striders Scholarship for cross country and/or track scholar athletes. $7,000 was distributed between five recipients.
This is the first year the HelenAnn Phillips Scholarship was awarded. The 2024 Santa Fe Striders Scholarships were supported by the John C. Griswold Family Foundation, Admiral Robert & HelenAnn Phillips and the Corrida de Los Locos race.

GRETA SMITH is a graduate of Santa Fe High School. She will be attending Elon University to study Political Science. Greta participated in track for 3 years. She qualified for the District 5A Track meet all 3 years in the 100m and 300m hurdles. Greta was named the District 5A All-Academic Team Award the past 3 years. Greta graduated with a 4.32 GPA and was ranked 4th in her class out of 332. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Model United Nations and a Human Resource Officer. Greta served as a kindergarten class volunteer and was self-employed as a babysitter and dog walker.
ANNA WETTELAND is a graduate of Los Alamos High School. She will be attending UCLA to major in Statistics. Anna was a 2024 Track State Champion in the 400m, 800m, 4x400m Relay and 4x100m Relay. In 2023, Anna was the Track State Champion in the 400m, 4x400m Relay and 4x800m Relay. She helped lead the team to the 4A State Track Team Championships in 2022, 2023 and 2024. In 2022, Anna finished 6th place overall to help lead the team to the 4A Cross Country State Team Championship. Anna finished 3rd overall and the team finished as 2023 4A Cross Country State Team Runner Up. Santa Fe New Mexican named Anna as the 2024 Best Fall High School Athlete. Anna graduated with a 4.0 GPA. She was a member of Student Council, Senior Class VP, and Topper Woman (School Mascot).
MARISA MARTINEZ is a graduate of Pojoaque Valley High School. She plans on attending New Mexico State University to study Biomedical Engineering. Marisa participated in Cross Country for 4 years. She qualified for the District Cross Country meet all 4 years and the State Cross Country meet for 3 years. Marisa graduated with a 4.27 GPA and was ranked 2nd in her class out of 148. She was a member of the Student Council, Big Brothers Big Sisters and National Honor Society. Marisa worked as a high school intern in electro chemistry at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

EMMA ST. PETER is a graduate of the Academy for Technology and the Classics. She will be attending Bard College to study Political Science. Emma will compete for the cross country and track teams. Emma was a cross country and track team captain. She was a qualifier for the District and State Cross Country Championships. In track, Emma helped lead the team to the 2A NM State Championship titles in 2022 and 2024. She was a State Medalist in the 4x800m relay and 4x400m relay teams. Emma graduated with a 3.79 GPA. She served as camp counselor for several camps, hosted several school fundraisers, played in the varsity string-band and was co-vice president of the National Honor Society.
CHARLI KOSEOGLU is a graduate of the Academy for Technology and the Classics. She will be attending the University of Arizona to major in Engineering. Charli will be competing on the track and field team as a heptathlete. Charli was a 14x NMAA State Champion, 3x NMAA State Championships High Point Female and State record holder in the Javelin throw (2024). She led the ATC track team to a District Runner Up and Class 2A State Championship. Charli was a State Champion in the 100m dash, 200m dash, long jump and javelin. She graduated with a 4.00 GPA. Charli started a personal dog walking business when she was in elementary school.
