Watch the Pajarito Environmental Education Center (PEEC) take flight with an exciting visit from the Santa Fe Raptor Center at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 at the Los Alamos Nature Center.
Thanks to a sponsorship from Del Norte Credit Union, Dr. Kathleen Ramsay will present New Mexico’s most intriguing birds. Meet the raptors up close and learn about their lives and their work as education animals. Nature Center staff also will be available to answer questions. This event is part of PEEC’s Summer Family Evenings program.
Over the course of the summer, a variety of animals and organizations will visit the nature center Wednesday evenings. There is something for everyone. Here is a list of this year’s remaining Summer Family Evenings:
- July 20 – Burros from the Aparejo Packing System; and
- July 27 – Wildland Fire Fighters and their fire truck.
Summer Family Evenings take place at the Los Alamos Nature Center at 6:30 p.m., every Wednesday throughout June and July. They are free for PEEC members or $5 per family for non-members. No registration is required. For more information about this and other programs offered by PEEC, visit www.peecnature.org, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 505.662.0460.
PEEC was founded in 2000 to serve the community of Los Alamos. It offers people of all ages a way to enrich their lives by strengthening their connections to our canyons, mesas, mountains, and skies. PEEC operates the Los Alamos Nature Center at 2600 Canyon Road, holds regular programs and events, and hosts a number of interest groups from birding to hiking to butterfly watching. PEEC activities are open to everyone; however, members receive exclusive benefits such as discounts on programs and merchandise. Annual memberships start at $35.
