SANTA FE — December festivities continue with Pro Musica’s presentation of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons at 7 p.m. Dec. 29 and 30 in St. Francis Auditorium.
Colin Jacobsen returns as violin soloist and leader in these holiday-season concerts featuring Vivaldi’s virtuosic masterpieces, Telemann’s picturesque Burlesque de Don Quixote, and Bach’s beloved Concerto in D Minor for Two Violins, with Pro Muscia’s concertmaster Stephen Redfield.
Jacobsen is “one of the most interesting figures on the classical music scene” (The Washington Post). He is an Avery Fisher Career Grant–winning soloist, a touring member of Yo Yo Ma’s famed Silk Road Ensemble, and founder of the string quartet Brooklyn Rider and the orchestra The Knights.
Jacobsen was recently selected from among the nation’s top visual, performing, media, and literary artists to receive the United States Artists Fellowship.
A graduate of The Juilliard School and the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, Colin plays a Joseph Guarneri filius Andreae violin (1696) and a Samuel Zygmuntowicz violin (2008).
