Santa Fe Opera Concert At Fuller Lodge June 17

Los Alamos and Espanola Valley Opera Guilds host the Santa Fe Opera Apprentice Concert at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Fuller Lodge at 2132 Central Ave. in Los Alamos.
 
This concert is free open to the community, and donations are welcome. Opera guild memberships are available and information on the upcoming Santa Fe Opera season. Cookies and punch will be provided.
 
Performers include:
  • Michael Hawk, baritone
  • Siena Miller, mezzo-soprano
  • Clinton Smith, piano
Baritone Michael J. Hawk, from Fredonia, New York, is a graduate of Rice University where he studied with Dr. Stephen King and performed Nardo La finta giardiniera, Professor Bhaer Little Women, and Betto Gianni Schicchi with Rice University. Michael has also recently sung the Cobbler The Juniper Tree with Wolf Trap Opera. Michael was a finalist in the 30th Annual Eleanor McCollum Competition with Houston Grand Opera. Last summer Michael was a member of the Studio Program at Wolf Trap Opera where he appeared in recital with Steven Blier and Joseph Li. Michael covers Oppenheimer Doctor Atomic this summer at Santa Fe Opera and will join the Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist Program at LA Opera in the Fall.
 
Siena Licht Miller

German American mezzo-soprano, Siena Licht Miller, is thrilled to join Santa Fe Opera this summer to cover Kitty Oppenheimer Doctor Atomic and Suzuki Madame Butterfly. This season, Siena made her professional debut as Second Lady The Magic Flute with Opera Philadelphia. While studying at the Curtis Institute of Music, she performed the title role in The Rape of Lucretia and Kitty in Doctor Atomic. She is an alumna of the Gerdine Young Artist Program at Opera Theater of Saint Louis, the Chautauqua Institute, and the Aspen Music Festival. Highlights for the 2018/19 season include Hermia A Midsummer Night’s Dream with Opera Philadelphia and a featured recital of premieres with the Carnegie Hall Neighborhood Concert Series, which she will take on tour to the United Kingdom and Germany.
