Santa Fe National Forest Offices Closed July 4

SFNF News:

SANTA FE – All Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) offices will be closed Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Forest offices will resume regular business hours Tuesday, July 5.

There are no fire restrictions on the SFNF. Visitors are reminded that fireworks and explosives are prohibited on federal lands. Law enforcement officers, fire personnel and recreation staff will be patrolling over the 4th of July weekend to ensure visitor safety.

After a rash of abandoned and unattended campfires earlier this month, forest visitors are urged to follow campfire safety guidelines and adhere to the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics. The 2016 Motor Vehicle Use Maps, available at all SFNF offices and online, designate roads and trails that are open to motor vehicle traffic.

For additional information, contact your local Ranger District or the Forest Headquarters at 505.438.5300.
