YMCA News:

Los Alamos has a rich, public night life once a year, and local adults are being asked to be a part of it. Each year, volunteers help at a community-wide, downtown celebration for Los Alamos High School graduates known as Senior Appreciation Night or SAN.

Graduates tell us the event is the highlight of their year, and volunteers tell us it is a great time and they enjoy the festivities. SAN is in need of 13 community members or parents who are up for a few grins to help chaperone a few events with 2 or 3 hour shifts that start at 6 or 7 p.m., until midnight June 1.

Anyone up for helping out and having fun should email Diana Martinez at dmartinez@laymca.org, or call at 662-3100.

SAN is sponsored by Los Alamos County Recreation Department, The Youth Activity Center, The Family YMCA, DWI Planning Council, Kiwanis Club of Los Alamos, Los Alamos Public Schools, Atomic City Transit, First United Methodist Church, and some 40 other organizations and local businesses.
