The American Association of University Women (AAUW), UNM-Los Alamos Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and UNM-LA Student Government hosted a “$tart $mart” salary negotiation workshop March 1 at UNM-LA.
“I learned a great deal about the importance of being able to negotiate wages,” workshop participant Edith Danielson said. “The smart start is a great conference not only for people just getting out to the workforce, but it is also great for people who have been in the workforce. Not only did it give me the confidence to approach supervisors … they teach you how to approach it. I recommend $tart $mart to everyone.”
The organizers plan to make the $tart $mart workshop an annual event in Los Alamos.
