White Rock Presbyterian Church is hosting its annual Rummage Sale 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23 in Memorial Hall at the church, 310 Rover Blvd.
There are three ways members of the community can help to make this a success. First of all, plan to attend. As the saying goes, “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” There will be a number of items for sale, including clothing, books, games, sports equipment, household goods and furniture.
WRPC also will accept donated gently used items to the sale. Donation receipts will be provided. Donations will be accepted Friday, Aug. 15 through Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Community members also are welcome to set up a table around the perimeter of the parking lot to sell their own items. Spaces are limited so please call the church office at 505.672.3682 or email email@example.com to reserve your spot.
Members of the House of Fellowship will be selling Navajo fry bread.
Proceeds from the rummage sale will benefit LA Cares, the Crisis Center of Northern New Mexico and the House of Fellowship Firewood Project (Navajo). LA Cares serves those in need in the Los Alamos community, providing food, emergency assistance and referrals to other agencies. The Crisis Center of Northern New Mexico offers crisis intervention and counseling to victims of domestic violence.
WRPC has been associated with the House of Fellowship on the Navajo reservation for more than 10 years, helping with food distribution, firewood collection and construction projects.
