ALBUQUERQUE—Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) Chairman Steve Pearce today issued the following statement in celebration of Diwali:
 
“Today RPNM and I want to wish all our Hindu, Sikh and Jain friends across New Mexico and around the world a happy Diwali. The five-day Festival of Lights symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness and good over evil.

“During this festive time, we recognize the contributions and accomplishments of these communities and the Indian American community as a whole. Their gifts, service, culture and proud standing in our communities in New Mexico and beyond have helped create a strong, diverse and vibrant society.

“RPNM stands with all Indian American families and wish them a wonderful and joyous holiday.”
