ART News:
Rose Chocolatier is hosting a reception for artist, Susanne Harrison 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 29 in Central Park Square.
The community is invited to see her new works that are livening up the art wall at Rose Chocolatier. Harrison‘s creative use of color and subject matter is not to be missed.
She uses art to overcome adversity in her life. She has been able to let go of years of pain and blame. Pain and blame brought on from severe sickness and devastating loss as well as annoying day to day frustrations. She lets go by getting quiet and painting through it, plus exercise, eating well and talking with someone she really trusts.

Harrison designs paintings that can be completed in under three hours. Some of these paintings have been enhanced in the studio after the painting events.
Harrison’s mission is to help lighten people’s loads by sharing her genuine joy of painting. In January 2017, she began leading a painting program called Canvas & Cocktails with the Fuller Lodge Art Center and has since expanded to her own small business called Los Alamos Canvas Events. She likes to think of the guided painting events as mini getaways. She creates an environment where painters can let go of day to day issues for a couple of hours and focus only on creating something fun.
Harrison has been teaching both adults and children how to use art materials to create their own masterpieces since 2000. She said she is delighted to use the skills she has developed by working as an independent professional artist to initiate unique painting experiences for others.
