It is hard to believe that we are down to the last week of this election cycle, and I want to thank everyone for their patience during this long campaign.
Elections seem to come earlier and earlier, but the people of Los Alamos have been fantastic in inviting me, and my fellow candidates to speak to as many different groups as we possibly could.
For me, it seems like yesterday that me and my fellow candidates were all crammed in the municipal building after declaring our candidacies, patiently waiting for our ballot position in the primary.
I want to thank all my other candidates for making this a great campaign season. While the state and national contests have seemed to get dirty, we have kept the conversation about vision and not about person. Although we may have vast differences in opinion as to the future of Los Alamos, we have debated, not argued. I think Los Alamos can be seen as a light at the end of this current tunnel of politics.
Finally, I want to again thank the citizens of Los Alamos. Not only have you all continued to be welcoming and warm when I have knocked on your doors or spoken to your group, but you have also been engaged in the issues. Asking the tough questions, and giving us candidates your advice. It has been truly humbling meeting you all on this journey, and I am excited to see that more than 30 percent of you have already cast your vote! Los Alamos always goes to the polls.
Now, in just one short week, all the votes will be counted, and Los Alamos will welcome their County Councilor Elects. I hope to be counted among those who you have chosen to be your representatives for the next four years.
I continue to believe that by working together, we can solve any issue that will come before us community.
