NNMC News:

ESPAÑOLA — Northern New Mexico College thanks Rio Arriba County for its generous $10,000 donation to the Northern Scholarship Fund.

This donation is a huge boost toward reaching the Northern Scholarship Campaign goal of $60,000.

The county is a longtime friend and champion of NNMC, and this donation marks $100,000 in total contributions since 2012, generating scholarships that help students pay tuition or meet expenses such as childcare, food, rent or an unexpected car repair.

“Rio Arriba County is proud to be able to provide support to the members in our community to further excel in their academic careers,” said Rio Arriba County Manager Jeremy Maestas. “The County is a firm believer that these scholarships are an investment in providing the necessary tools and resources for our community’s future. Rio Arriba County Commission and Management remain committed to protecting what’s yours.”

“We are grateful to Rio Arriba County for their continued and generous support of student success at Northern,” Northern President Hector Balderas said. “The County’s contribution will not only help Northern meet its fundraising goal for student scholarships but is a prime example of how partnership among our entities is vital to supporting our students and community.”

Northern is $13,675 short of meeting its $60,000 goal for this campaign. To support student scholarships, go to https://bit.ly/3x7MboZ.
