Rep. Jim Hall, the incumbent for House District 43 told the folks who turned out for his press conference Wednesday at Ashley Pond the reasons he is running for office.
Gov. Susana Martinez appointed Hall last June to fill the vacancy left by Rep. Jeanneate Wallace who died from illness last April.
Hall detailed his platform in the following email:
Why I am running for District 43 State Representative:
I have the expertise, experience, time, and energy to provide outstanding representation for District 43 in the House of Representatives.
Major Issues
· Creating jobs, primarily private sector jobs, and especially in rural areas
· Improving the quality of educational opportunities for our children
· Managing changes resulting from the PPACA
· Reforming our volatile and complex tax systems
· Improving our inefficient, occasionally corrupt, and often ineffective state government
· Funding our under-funded future liabilities

- Moved to Northern New Mexico in 1961 and to Los Alamos in 1976: Janet (a teacher) and I raised our four children here
- I have deep experience with our District 43 institutions
