Reminder: LACF Spring Grant Cycle Closes April 29

LACF News:

A reminder that the Los Alamos Community Foundation’s (LACF) Spring 2022 grant cycle will close at 5 p.m. Friday, April 29.

Grant recipients will be selected and notified by late May. The foundation will hold pre-proposal workshops for interested organizations to ask questions and learn more about each available funding opportunity.

Grant applications will be reviewed by a selection committee comprised of LACF board members and community members.

The Foundation is conducting competitive grant cycles in each of the following areas:

  • Discretionary grants to increase the financial stability of nonprofits in Los Alamos County (nonprofits can request up to $5,000 in funding). LACF defines “financial health” as any effort which results in a measurable improvement across one or more dimensions of an organization’s financial sustainability, to include, but not limited to, areas such as: diversifying funding sources and income streams, building technological capacity that allows for increased efficiencies, investing in board development to ensure proper governance and fiduciary oversight, pursuing a formal financial audit or review, evaluating/increasing current fundraising efforts, or increasing marketing efforts to broaden community outreach thereby bringing in new donors/customers/clients.
  • Youth Sports grants to fund competitive youth sports activities in Los Alamos County (nonprofit organizations can request up to $1,700 in funding).
  • Community Music Organizations grants to support nonprofits organizations whose work expands knowledge and appreciation of genres such as classical, orchestral and band music, light opera, marching band, and choral performances for adult populations in Los Alamos County (nonprofits can request up to $500)
