Registration Underway For Northern New Mexico Fair And Rodeo Royal Court Competition

Ladies and gentlemen from all over Northern New Mexico, ages 6 and up, are invited to participate in the  Northern New Mexico Fair and Rodeo Court Competition at Los Alamos County.

This competition is a revamped program of the Los Alamos County Queens Court Competition, that will allow for a larger age bracket for participation, categories for males of all ages, and the removal of Los Alamos County resident requirement to compete.

Categories Include:

Each contestant will give a formal speech before a panel of judges and compete in a horsemanship contest. Judging will be based on the following criteria: Horsemanship 20%; Interview and Personality 40%; Public speaking 40%.

The competition will begin at Brewer Arena for the riding portion, a candidate must furnish their own horse however, the mount may be borrowed, and will then move to the Golf Course for the speech and personality/interview section.

The competition is Saturday, June 3, starting 9 a.m. at Brewer Arena. The registration deadline is 5 p.m., May 31.
