Registration Opens for Summer Video/Animation Classes

PAC 8 News:

PAC 8 is offering Summer Video and Animation classes for children in second through ninth grades.

New, this summer, will be a Beginning Video session, open to second through sixth graders, called “A Peek at PEEC” in which the students will create a short documentary at the Pajarito Environmental Education Center.

Also new this summer, are two sessions (session 1 and 2) geared towards the home-schooled students in town.

All classes arefocused on fun. Students make music videos, news shows, documentaries, commercials and comedies.

Beginning Classes learn basic camera techniques, audio, editing with I-Movie, interviewing, and studio production. Intermediate Classes learn to use digital cameras, edit with Final Cut Pro, blue screen, and special effects.

Advanced Classes learn advanced camera techniques, advanced editing with Final Cut Pro, and Garage Band music production.

Expert Classes learn special effects with Motion & Live Type, how to create DVDs with DVD Studio Pro, and Soundtrack Music Production.

Introduction to Animation students are introduced to traditional animation, 2-D animation, and stop animation. Intermediate Animation students learn intermediate 2-D and stop animation, claymation, and sound effects.

Advanced animation will do a group project and learn jump animation.

Classes will be offered in morning sessions 9 a.m. to noon, and afternoon sessions 1-4 p.m at PAC 8, and the schedule can be found on online at pac8.org.

Class size is limited to six students per teacher and fills up fast.

Scholarships are available for two or more children in the same family taking classes.
