LASG News:

Last weekend Region 3 (Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Arkansas) competed in their Gold season finale, the “USA Gymnastics Region 3 Gold Regional Championships”.

Two gymnasts from Los Alamos School of Gymnastics (LASG) qualified and traveled to Little Rock, Ark. for the meet.

Eliana Rodriguez competed in the senior 4 age group and Teagan Brown competed in the senior 1 age group. There were just over 1,200 competitors in the meet between the junior and senior age divisions.

Rodriguez took a medal for sixth place on vault, with a 9.25. She was 11th on beam with 8.775, 17th on floor with an 8.525 and 17th in the all-around with 34.05.

Brown was 12th on vault in her division with 8.625, 11th on beam with 8.60, 19th on bars with 8.875, and 18th on floor, with 8.85, and in the all around with 34.775.

Both girls said they were honored just to have qualified to and be a part of such a large championship meet. As can be imagined, with that many girls to differentiate between and actually separate, the scoring over the 4 days of the meet was tight.

Miles Beaux, the girls’ vault and bar coach, and Kayleen Kline, their beam and floor coach were both able to get away from LANL to be on the floor coaching their girls in Arkansas.

LASG Program Director and Head Coach Loui Janecky as the Region 3 Xcel chair, and a USAGymnastics official at the meet, was able to leave the podium to rotate with the team.

This championship ends the 2025 season for the Gold gymnasts.

Janecky will still be on the podium at the Platinum/Diamond/Sapphire Regionals all of this weekend in San Antonio, to close out the entire USAGymnastics Xcel Region 3 2025 season.
