Regents Select Hector Balderas Next President Of NNMC

Newly selected NNMC President Hector Balderas

NNMC News:

ALBUQUERQUE—New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas issued the following statement today after the Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) Board of Regents unanimously voted to select him as their next college president. (His term as AG ends Dec. 31.)

NNMC is a Hispanic and Native American-serving 4-year college focused on cultural sustainability, quality student learning and developing economically strong communities among diverse populations.

It is this uniqueness of Northern’s communities of service that is deeply tied to the region, a fact that influences both the educational choices of their students and the ways in which NNMC serves them.

“I’m inspired that the community was involved in the selection process—they have hope for change, and I am honored that the regents, faculty and staff will partner with me as we take Northern New Mexico College into the future, building on student success and institutional development,” Attorney General Balderas said.
