Interfaith Los Alamos News:

Interfaith Los Alamos, for the fifth year in a row, is requesting that the very generous folks of Los Alamos consider once again donating backpacks loaded with school supplies for newly arrived refugee students.

This year there will be about 150 refugee students starting in Albuquerque public schools next week, including boys and girls ages K-12.

The organization that resettles immigrants and refugees in the State of New Mexico, Lutheran Family Services, has once again reached out and asked for help.

The specific need is for new backpacks each loaded with the required age-appropriate school supplies. Members of the public who are interested in helping out, contact interfaith.losalamos@gmail.com and Interfaith Los Alamos will provide you with the detailed information of exactly what is needed and where to deliver it.

Note: “Time is short! And this weekend is the New Mexico tax holiday — a great time to buy school supplies!”
