RED RIVER News:
The Town of Red River has announced the grand opening of the new Copper Chair ski lift at the Red River Ski & Summer Area. This state-of-the-art fixed-grip triple chairlift, constructed by Doppelmayr, represents a significant $6 million investment in the community’s recreational infrastructure.
Replacing the original Copper Chair installed in 1993, the new lift enhances efficiency and guest experience, while preserving its legacy by retaining the beloved name.
Red River Ski & Summer Area owner Linton Judycki expressed his enthusiasm saying, “As a proud family-owned and operated business, this milestone reflects our enduring commitment to our community and visitors. The new Copper Chair marks a pivotal advancement in our commitment to providing exceptional experiences for our guests. This upgrade not only modernizes our facilities but also honors the rich history of our ski area.”
Red River Mayor Linda Calhoun highlighted the broader impact saying, “Investments like the new Copper Chair are vital to the economic vitality of Red River. They attract visitors, support local businesses and reinforce our town’s reputation as a premier destination for outdoor recreation.”
The new Copper Chair is now operational for the 2024-2025 ski season, offering improved access to the eastern terrain of the ski area and connecting the Town of Red River on both ends with lift-accessed skiing. The Red River Ski & Summer Area remains one of the few family-owned ski resorts in the country, continuing its tradition of personalized service and community-focused operations. Guests can look forward to a smoother and more efficient ride, enhancing their overall experience on the slopes.
