Summer Concert Series

The Red Elvises return to Ashley Pond at 7 p.m. today for a free concert.

Opening the show around 6:30 p.m. will be the fabulous Los Alamos marching band, the Hillstompers. The Hillstompers will also play when the Red Elvises take a break. The Red Elvises is Los Alamos’ favorite band. You disagree? C’mon out and check out this great party band as they play Russian surf-rock, Russian and Eastern European folk rock, Russian and Santa Monica “rokenroll.”

They also perform a very unique country and disco. Check them out on www.redelvises.com and on youtube.

We’ve had some fantastic concerts this summer and I’m promising another Friday. We’ve also had a number of outrageous and fun rock concerts with this band over the years.

Friday is our yearly American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life Night. The event this year is presented by the Los Alamos Medical Center with assistance from many businesses, individuals, professionals, the County of Los Alamos, the Chamber of Commerce as well as the sponsors of the LA County Summer Concert Series.

We only have three more concerts scheduled this summer: The Red Elvises and then the Iguanas from New Orleans Aug. 28 at Rover Park and ending Sept. 4 with Eddy & the Nomad and DK & the Affordables. The Iguanas show will be Del Norte Credit Union Night and the Nomads’ show will be Los Alamos Daily Post Night.

We sincerely hope you’ve enjoyed the shows thus far and hope you can try to make the final three gigs.

Thank you to all our sponsors. Please look them up at the gordonssummerconcerts.com site. There will be a test!
