CHAMBER News:

At the April 11 Chamber Business Breakfast, the Regional Development Corporation (RDC) spoke about their annual Micro-Grants with the Chamber membership.

The RDC Micro-Grant Fund provides a small infusion of capital (up to $3,000) that helps businesses sustain or grow revenue and put systems in place that lead to growth and the creation of job opportunities. The RDC is accepting applications for the Micro-Grants until May 3. Any type of for-profit company in the RDC’s seven-county service area that has been in business for at least 6 months, has CRS and FEIN #s, and a business-only bank account is eligible to apply.

Grant funds must be spent on purchasing equipment, services, or specialized software. Online information sessions in English and Spanish will be held on April 16 and 17. Visit www.rdcnm.org/micro-grant for more information. Please direct questions to Carla Rachkowski, Director of Operations at Carla@rdcnm.org.

During the Chamber Business Breakfast the RDC also surprised the crowd with special award announcements. Allan Saenz, owner of SALA, was presented a Local Community Business Award of $20,000 to help with the continued development of SALA. Ryn Herrmann was presented the Local Community Hero Award of Excellence for her work in the community as Chamber Director.
