The Regional Development Corporation (RDC), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving economic development in Northern New Mexico, introduces and congratulates its 2022 Tribal Economic Diversity Fund Awardees.
The fund awards grants to businesses owned by a federally recognized Indian tribe or by an enrolled member(s) of a federally recognized Indian tribe for critical technical services and equipment. Awards are made on a competitive basis and are intended to provide services to tribal business entities to diversify revenue, leverage other investments, retain and create new jobs and/or put systems in place that lead to growth.
A total of $47,129 was awarded to nine businesses from Cochiti Pueblo, Nambe Pueblo, San Ildefonso Pueblo, and Taos Pueblo.
Dancing Star Butterfly Naturals, LLC (Taos Pueblo) — Native woman-owned business specializing in all natural, plant-based hair care & skin care products; and medicines using only Indigenous and local plant ingredients.
Dawn Butterfly Cafe (Taos Pueblo) — Operating from a family-owned gallery at the Taos Pueblo Village, the cafe provides window service for signature coffee, prepared beverages and food.
Ka’ Ta Yatz Creations (Cochiti Pueblo) — Traditional Cochiti Pueblo Native American arts and crafts.
Lil’ Pumpkin Flower Shop (Taos Pueblo) — Traditional Taos Pueblo drum and Native American arts and crafts maker.
Martinez Family Art Gallery (San Ildefonso Pueblo) — Traditional pottery from San Ildefonso Pueblo and its famous potters, including world renown Maria Martinez.
Petite Treats NM (Nambe Pueblo) —Nambe-based bakery serving both traditional treats and contemporary favorites.
Povi Studios, LLC (San Ildefonso Pueblo) — Native woman-owned multimedia production company assisting businesses, independent filmmakers, and various organizations.
Wan Povi (San Ildefonso Pueblo) — Pottery from fourth-generation Tewa traditional potter.
Yellowbird Consulting (San Ildefonso Pueblo) — Native woman-owned company providing cleaning and professional services to large project and government subcontractors.
