¡Que Linda! Beautification Grant Application Now Open

NMDOT News:

SANTA FE — The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) is calling on municipal, county, and sovereign governments to join efforts in enhancing the state’s natural beauty through the ¡Que Linda! beautification grant program.  

The program offers funding to help local governments develop and implement community beautification initiatives that align with the state’s ongoing efforts to improve and preserve New Mexico’s landscape. 

Visit ¡Que Linda!| NMDOT to access the grant application and program information. The application deadline is at 5 p.m., Monday, June 30.

¡Que Linda! Program requirements: 

  • A full-time coordinator position dedicated to the local beautification program. 
  • Participation in the statewide ¡Que Linda! Cohort meetings and technical assistance meetings. 
  • Development of a formal local beautification program plan. 
  • Organization of at least three events and two contracts connected to ¡Que Linda! strategies.

The ¡Que Linda! program supports local governments in creating sustainable beautification initiatives, focusing on enhancing community aesthetics through strategies like abatement, enforcement, sustainability, and improved access to beautified areas. ¡Que Linda! is a capacity-building initiative designed to expand and strengthen local beautification efforts, offering a broader, lasting impact. This program provides local governments with the opportunity to beautify their communities while fostering long-term solutions for New Mexico’s landscape.
