COUNTY News:
Los Alamos County Public Works Department invites the public to attend a second public input meeting regarding the upcoming N.M. 4 Crossing and Multi-Use Trail Improvement Project. The meeting is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building, 1000 Central Ave. The Zoom link for virtual attendance is https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81357060773.
Those unable to attend the public meeting but wish to submit comments may do so by Feb. 4 at lacpw@lacnm.us.
This project includes the design and construction of both new and reconstructed multi-use trails along N.M. 4 between Sherwood Boulevard and La Vista Drive and within Piñon Park in White Rock. The planned improvements will enhance connectivity and safety for pedestrians and cyclists.
At this meeting the following will be presented:
- Reevaluation of the location for the Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon Crossing (HAWK Signal);
- Reevaluation of the N.M. 4 Westbound Lane Reduction between Sherwood Boulevard and La Vista Drive;
- Reevaluation of the Trail location along the northside of N.M. 4; and
- Update on the Piñon Elementary School Trail.

The County encourages the public to attend a presentation at the upcoming Transportation Board meeting, where the public’s insights and feedback are essential for addressing the needs of the community.
Community members are encouraged to attend and provide input on this important project.
