County News:
Residents and business owners in Los Alamos and White Rock are encouraged to attend an informal Q&A session with Acting Community Development Director Steve Brugger at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, April 12 in Council Chambers at 20th Street and Central Avenue.
The Q&A session is regarding proposed changes to Chapter 16 of the County Code.
Chapter 16 is more commonly known as the County’s Development Code.
Suggested changes include implementation of a Special Plan District.
Other changes are being proposed to clarify the planning review and permitting process.
County Code changes require adoption of an ordinance.
Ordinance 02-224 has been tentatively scheduled for introduction on April 10 with a public hearing before the County Council at its May 1 meeting at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
Citizens can review the ordinance, including a redline copy showing the proposed changes, on the County’s webpage at www.losalamosnm.us.
A hard copy also is available for review at the 311 Customer Care Center or either public library.
Those unable to attend the April 12 meeting can e-mail questions or comments to Acting CDD Director Steve Brugger at steven.brugger@lacnm.us or call CDD at 662-8120.
