Public Hearing March 20 on N.M. 502

NMDOT News:

Public Hearing and Availability of Environmental Assessment is March 6 through April 8 for:

  • N.M. 30 Improvement Project
  • N.M. 502 to U.S. 84/285
  • C.N. 5100440 (formerly C.N. 3980)

Hearing Date: Wednesday, March 20
Hearing Time: 4–6 p.m. open house with 4:30 p.m. presentation
Location: Santa Clara Pueblo Senior Center

Project Purpose: The New Mexico Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration is proposing to improve N.M. 30 from the N.M. 502 Interchange in Santa Fe County to the U.S. 84/285 intersection in Española.

purpose of the N.M. 30 improvement project is to widen the highway and provide physical, operational, and safety improvements to help ensure that travel on the segment of N.M. 30 is safe and efficient and meets the needs of current and future users.

These issues will be addressed with new pavement, the addition of traffic lanes from the beginning of the project to the Santa Clara Clinic, protected turn lanes, wider shoulders, drainage improvements, marked crosswalks, pedestrian facilities, and improved signage.

Public Hearing Purpose: The purpose of the public hearing is to present the findings of the environmental assessment and obtain comments from the public on the proposed project.

Comment will also be received on bicycle, pedestrian, and equestrian issues, as well as natural and cultural resources.

Environmental Assessment Availability: The environmental assessment will be available for review during a 30-day comment period beginning Wednesday, March 6 and ending Monday, April 8.
