Public Comments Sought On STIP

NMDOT News:
 
SANTA FE  The public is invited to comment on the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s new 2018 – 2023 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP).
 
The program will serve as a four year plan for the state’s federal aid highway program and will be implemented Oct. 1.
 
The STIP contains proposed road and bridge projects and is required under the federal legislation. Projects on the list are on federal and state highways (roads with I, U.S. or NM designations).
 
The NMDOT has posted the 2018-2023 STIP on the Internet asking for public comment through Aug. 18. In addition, NMDOT will be soliciting in person public comment as follows:
  • First public comment was in Santa Fe June 13, at the New Mexico Department of Transportation, at 1120 Cerrillos Road. 
  • Second public comment is in Milan, Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the NMDOT District 6 office, at 1919 Pinon Dr.
  • Final public comment is in Santa Fe Friday, Aug. 11, at the New Mexico Department of Transportation, at 1120 Cerrillos Road.
The STIP is developed by the NMDOT, working in cooperation with state, local and tribal transportation agencies as well as regional planning organizations. 
 
Projects included in the STIP are funded with a combination of federal, state and/or local funds. The document is posted on the NMDOT website at http://dot.state.nm.us/
