Praying mantis spotted this morning sipping sugar water from a hummingbird feeder while hummingbirds keep their distance in a garden in White Rock. Praying mantis are carnivores that dine primarily on insects such as flies, crickets, moths, grasshoppers and mosquitoes but also are known to feast on frogs, lizards and hummingbirds.
