Power Now Restored To Western Area

COUNTY News:

The Los Alamos County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) reports that Western Area is the latest part of the townsite to have power restored after an early morning outage affected the entire Los Alamos townsite.

Circuit 13 was restored around 9:20 a.m. However, the ski hill, which is normally on that circuit, has been isolated and is still without power.

Circuits 14, 17 and 18 were energized earlier, restoring power to Eastern Area and the downtown area.

DPU crews are working to restore power to North Mesa, Barranca Mesa and North Community.

While DPU crews have yet to determine the specific cause of the outage, they have found trees on power lines and downed power poles caused by high winds.

Power is not yet restored to North Mesa, Barranca Mesa or North Community.

Safety is DPU’s top priority in efforts to bring power back.
