San Leon, Texas is a small community in northeast Galveston County on a peninsula of land that is on Galveston Bay and Trinity Bay.

The community relies on fishing from local bays and the Gulf of Mexico for income in addition to other tourist related businesses.

Editor’s note: Longtime Los Alamos photographer Gary Warren and his wife Marilyn are traveling around the country and he shares his photographs, which appear in the ‘Posts from the Road’ series published in the Sunday edition of the Los Alamos Daily Post.

Topwater Grill: Topwater Grill is one of several popular seafood restaurants in the area of San Leon. This restaurant sits on the water where fishermen can bring their fresh catch of the day and have it prepared and cooked at the restaurant. Of course the restaurant serves a wide variety of fresh seafood from its own menu as well.  Photo by Gary Warren/ladailypost.com
