Police Win Money for Special Olympics during Benefit Basketball Game

Los Alamos Police were up 37-29 at half time in today’s exhibition basketball game against Espanola Police but the final score ended at Espanola Police 71, Los Alamos Police 65. The game was played in the gymnasium at Northern New Mexico College in Espanola and raised $288 for Special Olympics. “It was a great game that raised money to benefit a very worthy cause … we had a good crowd and everyone had a good time so it was a very successful event,” said Los Alamos Police Chief Wayne Torpy, adding that next year’s game will be played in Los Alamos.
