SIERRA CLUB News:
Jessie Emerson, who was involved in the recent passage of a plastic bag ban by the Santa Fe City Council, is the guest speaker at a public meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 at UNM-Los Alamos, Bldg. 2, Room 220.
The meeting is sponsored by the Sierra Club of Los Alamos.
Emerson will speak on how the ban was passed and why we might want to ban plastic bags in Los Alamos, as well as reducing waste generally.
Emerson’s presentation will be followed by the 78-minute award winning movie “Bag It,” about the major environmental problems caused by plastic bags.
