Pink Panthers And Glitter Hitters Deliver Excitement At 2025 Los Alamos Youth Softball Season Opener!

The Pink Panthers faced off against the Glitter Hitters in the Los Alamos Youth Softball season opener Friday at Minors B softball field in White Rock, delivering an instant classic with exciting plays by both teams.

The Pink Panthers jumped out to an early 5-run lead in the top of the first inning by starting the game with 5 singles. The first run came off a single by Avery Islas, scoring 1 run. However, the Glitter Hitters came right back in the bottom of the first and tied the game when Addison Martinez hit an infield single scoring their fifth run of the inning. The Pink Panthers flipped the game in their favor in the top of the second, scoring five runs on eight hits to take a 10-5 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Lucy Lindsay that drove in two. The Pink Panthers were able to hold off an exciting 3-run effort by the Glitter Hitters in the third inning to secure the victory in a 10-8 final score.

The Pink Panthers amassed 19 hits in the game. Ava Zadina, Addison Lowe and Audrey Artnak each collected three hits for the Pink Panthers. Lucy Lindsay went 2-for-2 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Madelinn Honig, Avery Islas, Morgan Stewart and Kayla Daley each collected multiple hits for the Pink Panthers.

The Glitter Hitters accumulated 18 hits in the game. Rebekah Silva drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Glitter Hitters with two runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day. Hannah Bustos, Rosie Demas and Addison Martinez each collected three hits for the Glitter Hitters. Penelope Moore, Emeree Maassen and Lilliean Petring each collected multiple hits for the Glitter Hitters.

“I am so proud of how all the girls played today on both teams,” Pink Panthers Coach Joe Artnak said … but our star tonight was one of our youngest players in her first softball season, Morgan Stewart. A game ball was presented to a glowing, smiling Morgan at the end of the game by head coach Shawn Lowe.”

This was a fantastic first game with great play by both teams, said Glitter Hitters Coach Jennifer Demas said. “We are looking forward to the rematch in a couple of weeks,” she added with a big smile and gentle laugh.
