Pets Of The Week: Saturn And Shiloh

Saturn is a magical stardusted snuggle-loving 2.5-year-old gal who’s been through more twists and turns than the rings of her namesake planet. When she first arrived, she was badly injured and battling heartworm. Our miracle-working vet team tackled her injury first with a femoral head ostectomy (FHO)—basically removing the damaged ball of her hip joint so she could strut pain-free again. And then thanks to her incredible medical foster family, Saturn recovered like the true space queen she is! Now, she’s nearly finished with her heartworm treatment and is ready to launch into a forever home of her own. What makes Saturn extra stellar? She adores adorable babies, has befriended a house chicken (yes, really), and zooms along fabulously with foster dogs and cats alike. She’s a galactic gem with a heart as big as a supernova. After all she’s been through, this cosmic cutie just needs a home where she can orbit happiness forever. Española Humane is open to walk-in adopters 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. Visit www.espanolahumane.org. Courtesy/EH

Shilo is a dashing 4-year-old orange tabby with sunshine in his fur and a heart that hums with love. This charming gentleman is a certified cuddle connoisseur, and he’s never shy about politely requesting affection when the mood strikes… which, to be fair, is often. And then there’s his signature flair: a tiny, off-center brushstroke of white down his nose, paired with the daintiest little half white velvet muzzle, like he dipped his face in a cloud and decided to keep a souvenir. Orange tabby lovers: come and get him! Española Humane is open to walk-in adopters 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. Visit www.espanolahumane.org.
