Oh, Odessa… those ears! Gigantic, sticky-uppy, swoon-worthy ears that could catch signals from the moon. Seriously, these ears have their own gravitational pull. She tilts her head and somehow you’ve got sattelite tv! At one year old, Odessa is a Dutch Shepherd mix with a heart like a hidden treasure chest. She’s the kind of girl who tiptoes through the world, shy at first—but when she trusts you, she blooms like a sunbeam stretching across the horizon. She’ll curl next to you, soft as velvet, or erupt into a sudden, cosmic chaos of playfulness that make you wonder if she’s secretly part kitten, part comet. She’s looking for a calm, patient human (or humans) who understand that magic takes time. In return, she will offer loyalty that could bend spacetime! She goes home spayed, vaccinated, chipped, and with six months of free heartworm prevention. Española Humane is open to walk-in adopters 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. Visit www.espanolahumane.org. Courtesy/EH
Ray’s slightly crossed eyes see the world a little off kilter—and somehow he makes it all look sweeter, like maybe he sees a kaleidoscope of extra dimensions that way. His eyes give him an endearing expression of mild surprise and deep wonder. At four months old, he’s a tiny gray whirlwind of curiosity, mischief, and misaligned magic. Ray bounced back from a serious respiratory bug with heroic resilience, snuggled alongside his sickroom buddies (who’ve since found homes). Now he’s ready to bring his own brand of quirky joy to a forever family. He’s still learning that humans are for snuggles, not surprises, so the first hello might come with a tiny hiss before the purrs begin. Keep him indoors, keep him safe, Ray isn’t just a kitten—he’s a little ray of sunshine, slightly tilted, perfectly magical, and impossible to forget.
