Pets Of The Week: Meet Strawberry & Raven

Strawberry is cute as a bug and sweet as sunshine. This purrfect kitten is playful and cuddly, and she is unphased by anything. She’s available for adoption at the shelter: spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped and FeLV tested. Española Humane is open to walk-in adopters, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. Visit www.espanolahumane.org or call 505.753.8662. Courtesy/EH

Raven will soon be ‘paw-roled’ from the Paws in the Pen partnership with the New Mexico Corrections Department. He has been paired with inmate trainers and enrolled in a 24/7 8-week training program designed to develop wonderful family dogs with excellent training. Raven is potty and crate trained and knows a whole list of cues and behaviors; to ensure a successful adoption, Española Humane is providing two training sessions with adopters plus an invitation to weekly discounted drop-in classes. Raven is smarter than the average human. This border collie mix  is gorgeous, smiles for days and has an active brain to match his body. This dog could be very highly trained for whatever job asked of him. Raven is 1-year old, 44 pounds, and goes home neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and with six months of free heartworm prevention. Apply on the Española Humane website – he’s ready to graduate next week. Visit www.espanolahumane.org or call 505.753.8662. Courtesy/EH
