Meet Spooky, a lovable long-haired 5-month-old buff colored kitten. This charming little guy arrived at the Española Humane shelter with three other cats, and it didn’t take long for him to stand out as the most social and outgoing of the bunch – not to mention handsome. Spooky is known for rubbing against the sides of his kennel and purring loudly, making sure everyone knows he’s ready for attention and affection. While he has always been an outdoor cat, Spooky has quickly shown that he’s ready to embrace the cozy comforts of indoor life. He clearly prefers lounging inside and being spoiled with love and treats. His friendly nature shines through in his interactions with other cats – he often headbutts and rubs against them, signaling he’s a new friend eager to play. Anyone looking for a playful and affectionate companion who would thrive in a loving home is invited to meet Spooky at 108 Hamm Pkwy. in Española. Visit espanolahumane.org. Courtesy/EH
Blanco is a reminder that a little love and kindness can heal the deepest wounds and fears – and that the resilience of dogs is nothing short of remarkable. When Blanco arrived, he was so terrified, he couldn’t even walk – he collapsed on the ground and slithered down the hallways on his belly instead. But look at this brave boy now, standing like Leonardo DiCaprio being the king of the world on the Titanic. Speaking of Leonardo, how handsome is Blanco? He’s a stunner and turns heads with his unique look, curly tail, and inquisitive eyes. Though he’s still a little nervous with his new surroundings, he’s proving just how brave and willing he is to try. Leo … errr Blanco … is 6 years old and 65 lbs., and he goes home neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and with six months of free heartworm prevention – and his adoption fee is waived.
