Pets Of The Week: Meet Alonzo And Stormy

Alonzo is a stunning 1yo flame point Siamese with a personality as fiery as his coat. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was understandably cautious, spending time in a feral box and hissing and growling to express his disinterest in human affection. After several weeks of gentle socialization, our dedicated staff were finally able to earn his trust and pet him, revealing a softer side. However, when they decided to let him out of the box, Alonzo made it clear that he’s still very much an adventurous spirit. He does growl and hiss, but he does not try to hurt anyone – we assume he just doesn’t know how to properly communicate (ahem, some people don’t really know how either, amirite?!) Alonzo is looking for a home where he can embrace his adventurous nature-ideally one that allows him the freedom to be who he is while learning to be someone he doesn’t know how to be just yet. If you’re ready for a cat who’s both charming and independent, Alonzo might just be the perfect companion for you! Courtesy/EH

This sweet love arrived absolutely emaciated, all hips and spine and sharp angles instead of soft and squishy – but that hasn’t stopped him from being wiggly as all get out! We don’t know what Stormy’s past was like, but considering how skinny he was upon arrival, we think it’s all uphill from here. Despite still needing to gain a fair amount of weight, this handsome young hound mix dog has boundless energy and a zest for life – Resilient is his middle name! He loves to play in the yard, whether it’s fetch or just running around, and he’s equally excited about treats. Stormy is learning to walk well on leash, and would love to find a forever home that will nurture him back to health, finish his training, take him on lots of hikes and outdoor adventures, and of course smother him with love … and maybe give some cheese – his favorite! Stormy is 2 years old, 40lbs (will weigh more as he gets the groceries he continues to need), and he goes home neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and with six months of free heartworm prevention.
