Darby is one year old, 58lbs, and already at the top of her class. She’s a bright, bouncy beauty with signature rear-to-ear wiggles and a “let’s go!” attitude toward life. Loves other dogs, prefers a feline-free fan club, and is made of loyalty, smarts, and sunshine. After nearly eight weeks of training in our Paws in the Pen program with inmates at the Penitentiary of New Mexico, Darby is officially preparing for “paw-role.” And let us tell you — this girl will not just pass. She has excelled! Potty trained, crate trained, leash trained and valedictorian of her cues and manners! She’ll also head home with four private training sessions, discounted drop-in classes, a sleek biothane leash and collar, six months of heartworm prevention, plus she is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed! Apply on our website to met her. Española Humane is open to walk-in adopters 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday, at 108 Hamm Parkway in Española. Visit www.espanolahumane.org. Courtesy/EH
Sunny is four months old and already rewriting the rules — because yes, she’s orange… and yes, she’s a girl. Female orange tabbies are a rare little genetic magic trick, which makes Sunny extra special before you even factor in her personality. And her personality? Pure golden hour. Sunshine wrapped in fur. She carries that perfect kitten balance: a spark of playfulness when the world feels exciting, and a deep devotion to being near her people when the day winds down. She does well with dogs and would likely welcome a feline friend with a thoughtful introduction. Sunny isn’t just named after light — she is light. Soft, snuggly, and wonderfully uncommon, she’s ready to brighten someone’s world! Sunny is available to walk-in adopters 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Saturday and she goes home spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
