SHELTER News:

Willow is a petite, 7-year-old female cattle dog cross. Her family was forced to move when their rental house was sold, so she is back at the shelter, where she was adopted a few years ago.

Willow does well with adults and gentle children, but she can be a bit protective of her family around other dogs.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets; see the Petfinder website for photos here. All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and have up-to-date on vaccinations.

For information about volunteering, adopting and donating and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit www.lafos.org.

Shelter hours are noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays.
