Pet of the Week: Tank the Russian Blue Cat

SHELTER News:

Tank is a 4-year-old Russian Blue who is a little blue that he hasn’t been adopted yet. Tank was surrendered with three other cats, all of whom have been adopted, and Tank hopes that it’s his turn next.

Tank is an indoor cat only, and he enjoys the company of other cats (although he might need a little bit of an adjustment period when meeting new feline friends), as well as adults, some dogs and gentle children. He loves having a quiet spot to sleep, but quickly rolls over for belly rubs when you approach, and he can easily be coaxed out with promises of petting and a lap to nap in.

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 505.662.8179, has a great selection of adoptable pets – see the Petfinder website for photos here. For information about volunteering, adopting and donating, and learning more about special needs animals and cats and dogs in foster care, visit www.lafos.org.

All adoptable pets are micro-chipped, spayed or neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Shelter Hours: Noon-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekends.
